SRP, What Is It?

SRP stands for, "Suggested Retail Price." SRP includes all of the material (except for special order appliques that can differ from one pattern to the next), installation, priming, sanding, spackling nail holes and caulking. You should expect a semi-finished product from your finish carpenter, one that is simply ready for paint.

If you're interviewing a finish carpenter who will not prep his own work, then you are probably dealing with a production carpenter--maybe not the right guy for the job.

Base SRP The base price of the pattern excluding special order items and their installation. Special order items are architectural appliques, corbels and any other items that can make your installation unique. For example, you decide you want your finish carpenter to install Fireplace-100, but you want different corbels than the one shown. Your choice of corbels may be more or less expensive to purchase, and they also may be more or less expensive to install.

Home Owners When the SRP is left blank, you can have your finish carpenter or interior designer/decorator fill in the price they will charge you. Just print the page of the pattern you are interested in and show it to whoever is managing your project.

Finish Carpenters I encourage you to post in the Comments below each pattern your own recommendation for the price. Prices can vary in different cites, so your input is very valuable to home owners looking for someone to install a pattern for them.
